    1. A specimen is requisitioned within Pathology, generating the necessary external specimen numbers for tracking during specimen processing.

Desktops > Pathology Desktop > Requisition
    2. The specimen is accessed within Findings Entry.

Desktops > Pathology Desktop > Enter Findings
    3. Arrow down to the synoptic type data section and hit "Enter ."
    4. Edit Synoptic Section: “Y” to edit the Synoptic PTH Data Section.

Desktops > Pathology Desktop > Enter Findings
    5. This will branch the user to eFRM.
      1. NOTE: MEDITECH sends eFRM the MEDITECH timeout for the routine that launches eFRM (or the system timeout if the routine timeout is undefined). If this amount of time elapses without activity, the user will be presented with a warning in eFRM. If they fail to generate activity, eFRM will close and the user will be returned to MEDITECH.
    6. The user will select the appropriate synoptic report template and enter their data.
    7. The user will choose “Submit” and “Close”.
    8. The user will then be returned to the Findings routine and the information will save back to MEDITECH.

Desktops > Pathology Desktop > Enter Findings > View Magnify Glass of SYNOPTIC Data Section
    9. Print an Internal Inquiry or the report format from above. It will include the synoptic data. Print an external report defined to print synoptic data and it will appear if the PTH Data Section entry is set to Internal “N.”
