Deploy CAP 2023 Q3 Cerner

mTuitive has been working hard to update the College of American Pathologists' electronic Cancer Protocols (CAP eCP)! When you are ready to deploy the updated 2023 Q3 CAP eCP checklists to either Test or Live environments, please follow all of the steps below:

Please note: if you have not deployed the 2023 Q2 updates, please do so before deploying the 2023 Q3 Update. Thank you!

1. Log In: Sign into CAP eFRM as an administrator who can access the database administration tools.

2. Deploy New Templates: From the left-hand panel, select "DEV" from the Group dropdown (1). Then, select “2023 Q3 CAP [...]" from the Template Set dropdown (2). On the right-hand panel, select Group LIVE or TEST (3) and Template Set "Synoptic Pathology Algorithms" (4).

Then, from the list of checklists in the left-hand panel, check any CAP templates you would like to deploy. Templates can be selected individually by clicking the box next to the name of the desired template. To select all the templates at once, click the top box to the left of the header "Template Name" (1). Once all desired templates are selected, click the large black arrow (2) to deploy templates.

3. Please wait while templates deploy: Grab a coffee but don't go too far!

4. Deployed: Once you see the message "Deployment completed," you are free to click the "Close" button. Please note that deployed templates will be highlighted in green in the left-hand panel.

5. Remove retired checklists: Five checklists, Bone Marrow - Biomarker, Bone Marrow - Final Integrated Diagnosis, Bone Marrow - Histological Assessment, NonHodgkin Lymphoma, Lymphoid Neoplasms, Hodgkin Lymphoma - Biopsy; Resection, have been retired in this release. Plasma Cell checklist has retired, but it has been replaced with the same name one. To remove these checklists, check off the checklists in the right-hand panel (1), then click on the Delete Template button (2).

Note: If you have not removed the three CNS checklists that were retired in the 2022 Q3 and 2022 Q4 releases, please remove those as well. The checklists are CNS Biomarker Reporting, CNS: Integrated Diagnosis, CNS: Histological Assessment, Endometrium Biomarkers.

6. Open APSDBTools: The final step is to open APSDBTools in whichever domain you deployed to and import the worksheets.

7. Associate worksheets: Be sure to associate the following worksheet with the appropriate specimen types:

  • Anal Cytology
  • Myeloid and Mixed / Ambiguous Neoplasms
  • Precursor and Mature Lymphoid Malignancies

8. The new worksheets will then be available to the Pathologists for use.

Note: For new eCP protocols, you also must add the report sections to the new template. These will vary based on your site. For example: Surgical Pathology Report - SP Synoptic Data and Addendum Report - Addendum Synoptic Data
